Measurement of Success
Has planning permission been granted to The Varsity Hotel for their balcony extension despite the tough regulations of Cambridge.
The Challenge
D Cube were presented with a challenge to create a visualisation of The Varsity Hotel with an extended balcony. The challenge was to prove that the planned changes for the hotel would fit into the stringent requirements set-out by Cambridge council.
The Approach
The Varsity Hotel wanted to show the council that the balcony design wouldn’t detract from the beautiful city skyline. D Cube followed the approach to ensure the design was unobtrusive. The images created were designed to blend the changes into the background of the city without creating a distasteful view for any residents.
The Solution
D Cube visited the location, in Cambridge, to take verifiable views of the hotel from various angles. These views were then recreated in 3D to show the minimal impact on the skyline once the changes to the Hotel were implemented. This allowed the council to review the limited impact and the planning was passed speedily as a result.
